OVERVIEW

Late in 2023, Knog invited us to create a series of stylised photo-real images, specific to the German market for their Blinder Pro.

StVZO (Straßenverkehrs-Zulassungs-Ordnung) stands as the comprehensive set of road traffic regulations governing Germany, covering all aspects of traffic, including specifications for bicycle lights. These regulations meticulously define parameters such as light beam length, projection, and spread. Leveraging real-world, IES-compliant data, we crafted precise photorealistic renderings, faithfully replicating the natural flood and spread of the Blinder Pro through our custom smoke-filled studio simulation.

In a rare turn of events, our project demanded a swift shift to CGI previsualization, proving more efficient than traditional studio setups. Originally slated for extensive on location production, including lighting and talent, our goal was to capture the Blinder Pro's StVZO variant in action.

Opting to previs in Cinema 4D, we achieved nearly the entire client vision in stunning detail during preproduction. With only minimal revisions, we achieved the final look exceeding any live capture results while showcasing our CGI expertise, innovative thinking and a cost saving approach.
